Thing #16 & #17 WIKIS

I must say that the creators of these new techie terms -- wikis, del.icio.us, merlin rolly, etc -- probably began their career creating names of the various street names in Columbia, MD or who knows, they may have grew up on one of those strange streets and was inspired.
This week's term gets more respect than del.icio.us!! After reviewing various websites to become more familiar with wikis, I believe it would be useful for HCL intranet, school research responses, collaborative projects, or creating documents. At HCL, creating a wiki for book reviews from staff and the community would be awesome! It would help a patron conclude if the book is right for them. Of course, I guess we would be copying from Amazon. Is that ok? The utube presentation had great points, too -- less email generated, one central site.
I do have a hang up with this concept just like del.icio.us and others out there that it is free speech and thus will have opinions, slander, lack credibility, and gossip. I truly don't have time to waste my time surf or snurfing around the world wide web to read outlandish things. I much prefer to have a face-to-face conversation with my friends and family. I feel that if the writer needs to be anonymous than it doesn't need to be published. (Of course that is my opinion).

I was teambuilding with my fellow cenchtech goddesses. In case you don't understand I edit a SIwiki post?#$%@%$
